Start by unplugging your hair, dryer and waiting until it’s cool. Then you want to remove the lint filter on the back of your hair dryer, many of them just twist off, but others may need to be removed with a screwdriver place. The grate under running water, for a minute or until all of the dust and debris comes off if there’s any stuck on dust or debris, grab a cotton swab or a soft bristle toothbrush to dislodge it dry, the filter with a cloth and just make sure it’s Completely dry before you reattach it to clean the outside of the hair dryer or any attachments such as the diffuser. You just want to wipe it down with a barely damp cloth. Being really careful not to get any water inside the dryer, then just follow with a dry cloth.
You can also use a fast drying disinfecting wipe on the handle of the hair dryer, but again just be careful, don’t get any liquid inside the dryer itself. Now say you curl your hair every single day and you tend to use a lot of hairspray leave in conditioner or other products. You want to aim to give your curling iron a quick, clean about once per week, start by unplugging your curling iron and waiting until it’s cool. Then, if your curling iron doesn’t have a lot of build up on it, you can start by just wiping it down with a barely damp cloth and then, following with a dry cloth, to remove any stuck on product residue start by combining baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. In a small bowl until it reaches about the consistency of toothpaste, this mixture will bubble up at first.
Then you want to apply the paste to the barrel of the curling iron. Let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes, then using a soft cloth or a paper towel scrub. The mixture into the product residue until it’s completely removed, wipe away the mixture with a clean, damp cloth, making sure that no baking soda is left. You may want to repeat this once or twice then just be sure to dry the curling iron thoroughly. If you have a ceramic hair, straightener try this plug it in and wait until it’s warm then unplug it and wait until it’s warm, but not hot.
To the touch apply a little bit of rubbing alcohol to a cotton round and then use it to wipe down the plates of the straightening iron, the warmth will help soften any product residue. While the rubbing alcohol will cut through the residue, then you just want to wipe it down with a damp cloth and follow with a dry cloth to disinfect the handle of the iron. You can wipe it down with a fast drying, disinfecting wipe just don’t wipe down the pleats of the iron and avoid getting liquid inside the electrical workings to keep your hairbrush clean. You want to remove hair from it regularly to do this. Hold your brush in one hand and grasp the comb in the other.
A comb with a pointed handle is perfect, for this then run the pointed handle of the comb through the hair brush bristles multiple times working to dislodge all of the hair. If you don’t have a comb with a pointed handle, you can also use the teeth of a comb raking them through the hair, brush, bristles and lifting the hair up and out to clean oil and product buildup on the brush. You want to shampoo it about once per month, so holding the handle swirl, the head of the brush around in a bowl or a sink filled with warm water apply. Just a few drops of gentle shampoo to a toothbrush then use it to scrub the bristles and the base of the hairbrush to rinse swirl, the hairbrush in a bowl or a sink of clean water. Avoid soaking your hair brush in water as it could harm the cushion or any wooden parts, then place the clean brush on a dry towel with the bristles facing down to let it dry overnight to learn how to clean everything else in your home.
